A new diorama is on the way: "Bighorn Bash."
So... it has been a minute since I brought you Archosaur Asylum Vol. 20. Since then, I have been up, down, around, and through a few ringers, but I have emerged yet again from the Abyss. Although I have not had much to say lately, I have done some work. Soon, I will be debuting the Styrac diorama that I have been working on for quite some time (above), and if you hadn't noticed, I just released two pr-orders for "Pre-Production" limited runs of two other dioramas. One is the 1/20 scale kit "Twinning Down Under," a return of the juvenile tyrannosaur twins from the sold-out "Twinning" diorama. In this scene, the twins dive to snack in their honey hole." The other is "Mad Momma," a 1/35 scale model of an adult Sauroposiedon who is not very happy. This can stand alone or be combined with the companion piece diorama: "Don't Count Your Chickens." In the combined scene, Acrocanthosauruses are attacking a juvenile Sauroposeidon, and her mother is turning back to have something to say about it.
These kits are offered as a limited "Pre-Production" run of only five pieces. Each pre-pro kit will come with a pre-production badge (see the Apex Rex example below) showing the series' number. The kits will also come with signed certificates of authenticity. Once the pre-production series is sold out, the kits will still be available without the badge. The full-production kits may also otherwise differ from the pre-production pieces.Â
In other news, I have two new collaborations going into effect imminently, but they must remain under wraps for now. However, I have been working with Palaeogames on some printable 28 mm miniatures for their awesome Dungeons & Dragons campaign supplement:Â Dr. Drohlin's Dictionary of Dinosaurs. I've done a couple of dinosaur species for them, but the coolest part of the project has been creating the 3d versions of humanoid dinosaur characters specific to the book. These characters were designed by the Palaeogames team. I have the honor of realizing them in 3d. I can show some shots of the dinos, but unfortunately, I must keep the humanoids under wraps for now. When they give the green light, I'll show them here. If you are into D&D, this is a very well-made, excellent campaign supplement to add scientifically accurate dinosaurs into your campaign.

Well, that's it for now, folks. Stay tuned for the next volume of the Archosaur Asylum.
